ACCESS TO MEDICINES /
OUR WORK IN SPAIN
THE UN AND EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT REPORTS ON ACCESS TO MEDICINES REACHED THE CONGRESS
In September, the Congress of Deputies (with all parties in favor, except the PP) approved a nonbinding proposition (Proposición No de Ley) -promoted by Salud por Derecho- that asked the Government to assume and make effective the recommendations on transparency and intellectual property, which appear in the last report of the United Nation’s High-Level Panel on Access to Medicines.
In this way, Spain joined the group of countries that introduce the discussion of international recommendations on access to medicines to the national dialogue, just as we had been asking the Parliament and the Government.
